Fall Protection Training For The Construction Industry

This 16 hour course is designed specifically for people working in the construction and maintenance industry. The course is presented over 2 consecutive days and covers safety requirements for both commercial and residential construction. In addition to helping workers and managers be more alert and aware of fall hazards this training gives participants the hands on experience they need to know what types of fall protection methods to implement and how to monitor and maintain them. The course also provides instruction in basic rescue techniques in the event of a fall. As with all of our training programs, we customize the content of our courses to fit any of your specific requirements. The course format includes a mix of classroom presentation and hands on field training with the majority of time spent in the field demonstrating and practicing fall protection methods, and safe work and rescue techniques. Our courses are fast moving and interactive requiring a high degree of commitment and energy from each student.

A written exam and skills observation are used to evaluate students during the training. Upon successful completion of the training, participants receive a certificate of training, which is valid for 2 years from the date of training.

Each student should be equipped with basic fall protection gear to participate in the course. This includes: approved full body work harness, helmet or hardhat, and fall arrest lanyard. When possible, we use the safety and rescue gear that the sponsoring organization has on hand. We can provide additional training equipment if necessary. Information regarding required gear and equipment will be provided well in advance of the training. ETI offers a source of safety and rescue equipment and can assist the organizations we train with gear purchases.
